We carry old mattresses out of any room in your home and recycle what we can. No curbside dragging required.

Here is the dirty secret of most mattress disposal: the hard part is not getting rid of it, it is getting it out of your house. Many services only pick up from the curb, which means you still have to wrestle a queen-size mattress down the stairs, through the front door, and onto the sidewalk yourself. For anyone in a second-floor apartment or with a bad back, that is the whole job, and they leave it to you.
One mattress or a full bedroom set, the process is the same.
A mattress is mostly recyclable if someone takes the time to break it down, and we do. The layers come apart by hand: polyurethane foam gets baled and reprocessed into carpet padding and insulation, steel innersprings head to metal recyclers, and the wood framing from box springs is chipped for mulch or composite products. Fabric and mixed materials that cannot be recycled are disposed of responsibly.
If your mattress is clean and gently used, donation comes first. Dallas-area shelters and charities accept a limited number of mattresses, and we route qualifying ones there with a donation receipt available on request. Landfill is always the last resort, not the default.
Prefer to handle it yourself? Dallas gives you two real options:
| Option | How it works | Catch |
|---|---|---|
| City bulky collection | Mattresses are on the accepted list for Dallas monthly brush and bulky collection, up to 10 cubic yards per address. Set items out Thursday to Sunday before your collection week, keep 5 feet of clearance around the pile, and request pickup through 311 the week prior. | You carry the mattress to the curb yourself, on the city's schedule, and overage is billed per 5 cubic yards. |
| McCommas Bluff self-haul | Drive it to 5100 Youngblood Road yourself. Dallas residents hauling their own loads are accepted Monday to Friday 5am to 8pm and Saturday 6am to 4pm, with vehicle and ID or water-bill proof. Keep the load covered or face an uncovered-load fee. | You need a vehicle big enough, a helper, and a free morning. |
Our pickup skips all of that: no 311 request, no curb wrestling, no truck needed.
Tell us what needs to go, where it is, and when you need it gone. Photos help clarify bulky or mixed loads.
On pickup day, the crew lifts, loads, and hauls everything away, working around stairs, gates, and tight access.
We sweep up and confirm the job is done before we leave, so the space is ready for whatever comes next.
Let us be direct about the one thing we will not haul: mattresses with an active bed bug infestation. Bed bugs spread to our truck, our crew's clothing, and every home we visit after yours, so we cannot take that risk. If you suspect bed bugs, look for rust-colored spots along seams, shed skins, and a sweet musty odor.
What to do instead: seal the mattress in a plastic mattress encasement or wrap it fully in plastic sheeting and tape, do not drag it through the house unwrapped, and call a pest management professional for treatment. Once the infestation is resolved and the mattress is cleared, we can haul it. Stains, wear, sagging, and pet damage without pests are completely fine, and most of our loads look exactly like that.
Timing is everything with mattresses. Your new bed arrives Tuesday, the old one needs to be gone Monday, and the delivery crew will only take the old one if it is bagged and waiting at the curb or in the garage. Some retailers charge a separate fee for old-mattress removal, and policies change often enough that it is worth asking at purchase.
We make the handoff painless: schedule our pickup for the day before or the morning of your delivery, and we will clear the bedroom so the new mattress goes straight into place. No sleeping on the floor, no old mattress leaning against the garage wall for a month. Just tell us the delivery date when you book and we will work around it.
