Why Electronics Cannot Go in the Trash

That dead TV and the tower PC from 2012 are not just clutter, they are hazardous waste in disguise. Televisions, monitors, and computers contain heavy metals like lead and mercury that leach into soil and water when they end up in a landfill. Texas rules treat electronics as a special waste stream, which is why your curbside bin and the city bulky truck are not options for most of them.

01

The Electronics We Remove

If it plugs in or takes batteries, we probably take it:

  • Desktop computers, laptops, and tablets
  • Flat-panel TVs and monitors, plus CRT and tube TVs
  • Printers, scanners, copiers, and fax machines
  • Cell phones, chargers, and small gadgets
  • Game consoles and controllers
  • Keyboards, mice, speakers, and peripherals
  • Servers and networking equipment from offices
  • Cables, power strips, and tangles of mystery cords

One drawer of old phones or a whole office of workstations, the process is the same.

Data Security: What Happens to Your Hard Drives

This is the question no competitor page answers, so here is our plain answer. Your old computer, phone, and tablet hold tax returns, photos, passwords, and business records, and deleting files does not truly erase them. We treat every data-bearing device as sensitive by default.

Our process: hard drives and SSDs are physically removed from computers and laptops on pickup or at our facility, then destroyed using industry-standard data destruction methods that make recovery impossible. Phones and tablets are factory-reset and wiped. If you are a business with compliance needs, such as a medical or legal office, we document the chain of custody and provide a record of destroyed drives for your files. Your data never rides along to a recycler intact.

Our Process: Estimate to Responsible Recycling

  1. Free estimate. List your devices or send photos. We confirm a firm price before scheduling.
  2. Scheduled pickup. We collect from your home, office, or storage area, including after-hours for businesses.
  3. Sort: donate, refurbish, recycle. Working devices are tested for donation or refurbishment. Dead ones go to certified Texas e-waste processors.
  4. Data destroyed first. Every hard drive, SSD, and phone is wiped or physically destroyed before the device leaves our control.

What Gets Recycled From Your Devices

A dead laptop is a small mine of recoverable material. Certified e-waste processors break devices down into their component streams: steel and aluminum chassis, copper from wiring and circuit boards, precious metals from contacts and chips, glass from screens, and plastics from housings. Each stream goes to a specialized recycler.

Working devices skip all of that and go to donation or refurbishment, where a tested laptop or monitor gets a second life with a Dallas nonprofit, school, or family. Data is destroyed before either path, so nothing usable, and nothing recoverable, ends up in a landfill.

Service FAQs

Questions before pickup.

Yes, and this is the part of our service we take most seriously. Hard drives, SSDs, and phones are removed and wiped using industry-standard data destruction methods before anything is recycled or donated. If you need documentation for your records, we can provide a record of the drives destroyed.
We do. Computers, monitors, printers, and peripherals are standard office cleanout items. For businesses, we also handle bulk scheduling and keep a clear chain of custody for data-bearing devices, which matters for offices handling client or patient information.
CRT monitors and old tube TVs contain leaded glass and need special handling, and we take them with the right processing. Loose batteries, toner cartridges, and fluorescent bulbs need separate handling too, so mention them when you book and we will plan the load.
It depends on the load: the types of devices, how many there are, and whether disassembly or data destruction is involved. Every quote is free and confirmed before we start, so you will know the number before we touch a thing.
We accept nearly everything, but a few items need special routing: large quantities of loose batteries, chemicals, and anything leaking. Tell us what you have when you book and we will confirm what we can take and the right way to handle the rest.
